In memory of
Betina Birtchnell
6th August, 1947 - 11th November, 2023
Betina passed away having been diagnosed with AML in April 2023. Thanks to the wonderful care she received from Chelsea & Westminster hospital, her chemo treatment gave her six months longer than we had expected. She bore her disease with great courage.
I was married to Betina for over 50 years, during which time we had a wonderful fulfilled life, travelled the world and bought up two children who themselves have given us delightful grandchildren.
Betina came from Denmark in 1969 as a young lady for a few months with the intention of improving her English, met me (Richard) by pure chance and the rest is history. I have been so lucky and so privileged to share my life with such an inspiring, graceful, beautiful and caring person.
Leukaemia is a wicked aggressive condition. Anything we can do to help those who are engaged in the research of a cure is hopefully going to help the medical profession and future sufferers.
